Celebrating Dad

Today is about Dad and celebrating his life. His coffin featured flowers and a fruit and vegetable wreath to acknowledge the produce he grew. It was Jennie's idea and a marvelous one.

At the end of the service we dismantled the weath and guests were welcome to take home whatever they could eat. It made for smiles and memories.

There were a lot of tears, smiles, and laughter today. We gave Dad the send off he wanted and deserved.

I thought long and hard about today's photo. It's taken before the service. We don't talk about death enough and how we can, and should plan for our death.

Today's gratitude: For a good, kind, and generous man.

Rest in Peace dear Dad.
