"If you' just go away...

I'd go for those peanuts."

Earlier, I put out a dish of peanuts in the shell.  It was the first time I've offered these (my peanut feeder got crunched in the move last year).  No one seemed to notice them and they went untouched all day.  Well, that is, while I had my back turned anyway.  I peeked out the window this evening and the peanuts had disappeared.  (I would wager that the bluejays made an appearance...)  So I refilled the bowl and that's when the nuthatch pair gave it a try.  They were pretty shy, so I eventually went inside and let them eat in peace.  

Now that the local bird crowd knows all about the peanut pile... I'll have to pay more attention when I put them out.  Those blue jay antics can be so fun to photograph.
