Flight of Fright

A cloudy day today but I wanted to get out for a little walk so headed for the little pond by my school.  A colleague had seen a Great Blue Heron flying in that direction so it has inspired me to check it out a day last week.  Today there was still fresh snow on the ground, so the first thing I saw were heron prints in the snow!  So huge!  I took a photo to show him when I returned to work.....and this happened!  I did not realize that he was about 10 ft away down a the bank from where I was standing!!  You know I will be back.... ; )
