Beside the lake, beneath the trees
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay
These are the wild daffodils recorded by Dorothy Wordsworth in her Grasmere Journal on 15 April 1802, seen on a walk with her brother, William. They inspired him to write his famous poem.
They are in the woods at Glencoyne, near Gowbarrow Park, on the shore of Ullswater.
I said I would try to include a photo in my journal for TusCat, who said she would like to see them.
