Saw Teeth
I found this old saw in the shed yesterday. Yet another old tool we have inherited along with the house.
Discovered a disappointing fact this morning. Got myself into a nasty fit of coughing which I simply couldn't control. Reckon what I have is not a cold but an upper respiratory tract infection. Anti-biotics sure to be the answer. Mrs.JB phoned the health centre. Got an answering device which promised a call back to arrange an appointment.
Ps. I still have the cough of course although it doesn't seem so bad just now.
They never called back!
The trouble with these stupid answering robots, like texts on the phone, is that you can never be sure that the message was ever received but there is no other way to contact them. Disappointed to know that the GP system which operates in Ireland doesn't apply here in Finland. If I were in Ireland I would have had an appointment with my friendly doctor in the afternoon at the latest. Furthermore it wouldn't have cost me a cent. Here, one is at the mercy of the local health centre and you pay for it even though you are a senior citizen.
There is an alternative. Go to the nearest hospital. It happens to be in Hameenlinna. Walk to train, travel on train, walk to bus, travel on bus, arrive at hospital. Repeat journey to get back home. You wouldn't want to be ill or even worse, infectious!!!
Before my Finnish friends object, I should point out that there are doctors in private practice in Finland. Two things though. Very expensive and none that I know of in my village.
