The Photographer
L and I had tickets for a concert in Glasgow and decided we would go through a bit early. As we'd met my schoolfriend E only the other week when he came through for a concert in Edinburgh (and he'd be at work on a Tuesday anyway), I decided it was a chance to see if I could catch up with a friend from college who also lives in Glasgow. K is often away travelling but she was not only in the country but free to meet up in the afternoon as she works from home and her hours are a little flexible as she checks in with colleagues around the globe in different timezones. Don't think we've met in person since college but we are in touch on social media, and she has been on blip now for more than a year so we can keep up that way! Anyway, after taking pictures of a few of the awesome Glasgow murals (see extras) I met her close to her flat and we went for a coffee/tea and a chat at one of her local coffee shops. Time whizzed by as we caught up and suddenly it was time for me to head back into the centre to meet L and for K to get back to some work. After a great pizza for tea L and I went along to the Old Fruitmarket for the concert - Joan As Police Woman. It was very good. Then back on the train to Edinburgh. A woman siting across the aisle saw Lorraine looking at her tour tee-shirt she'd bought at the merch table and asked, ''was Joan playing in Glasgow tonight?" Turns out she was something of a fan of the music but hadn't see that the concert was happening and instead had been to see something else she hadn't enjoyed. She spent the next few minutes texting other people she knew - one of whom called Joan too - to tell them they'd missed the concert. Seemed a little wrong to tell her how good it had been.
