Mop failure

So there I was mopping after hoovering a couple of times this morning. I went to make a particularly big "splish" on the floor and the top of the mop came away in my hand! I nearly overbalanced because I was about to lean down on it. Eek!

So, with half a mop, bucket at the foot of the picture is the first pass, the 2nd pass is in the middle bucket then is my improvised mop which I used to take excess surface water off. But see how filthy that is!

(the bands holding the cloth onto the pole let the cloth slip out at one end. By that time, nearly finished, I was beyond caring because my back hurt and I knew I was going to have to do it all again.)

After being washed in the machine, when I hung it out to dry, I saw it was still filthy and should go right back into the washing machine.
