THE MAM WITH NO NAME
As I go round the old cemetery across the road, where memorials have been moved, tumbled or allowed to disappear into the vegetation, and there's never a sign of any visits by descendants, I've often reflected on what families were hoping for when they spent substantial sums of money on gravestones and grandiose memorials. If it was that their loved ones should not be forgotten by posterity, why was Mother's name not included anywhere on her (husband's) grave, or any other comment about the life she'd lived? I think it's very odd.
On the subject of mothers, we're off to see mine tomorrow for a few days.
