Where did you get that hat?

As sung by Stanley Holloway and many others. A familiar Cockney music hall song written in 1888. It seemed apt for the day.

This morning I went to U3A where we had a talk called "The humorous history of hats" (just your subject Madhatter!) It was a most enjoyable meeting.

The lady was the daughter of a milliner who has over 350 hats in her collection. As well as telling us the history of hats she brought a great collection of  hats - vintage hats, some from other countries, funny ones, hats for occasions and every genre that you can imagine (not many men's hats though).

Afterwards she invited us to try them on. It was difficult to choose a blip as you can imagine! There's another as an extra if you are interested.
