Today was a busy day and I did not take any photos. I decided to photograph this race programme cover from 1920. The race meeting at Riccarton was set up to mark the visit of the Prince of Wales later to rule briefly as King Edward the 8th before his abdication in 1938. I note that the main race of the day, aptly named The Royal Handicap, was run for a stake of 1250 sovereigns which would have been a huge amount of money in 1920.
