Wichita Falls

Wichita Falls is named for a waterfall which used to be here.
It was washed away in a flood in the 1800's. In 1987 a new waterfall was constructed further upstream on the southbank of the Wichita river. It is 54 feet high, (man made), and recirculates at 3500 gallons per minute. The falls can be seen by southbound traffic on I44.

Great day with so many blip choices. We walked to the falls in Wichita Falls, visited the nature center where the kids got to 'pet' a tarantula (eeuuww) and hold a snake. They had an amazing guy there who talked to the kids about all the critters for such a long time and answered ALL their many questions. And then we finished up with a trip to the playground to wear them out :0)

Was hard to pick a picture but I decided to go with the postcardy waterfall.
