The best laid plans ...

Today TSM and I have been together for 24 years. We were going to go to Kew and with hindsight it might have been better if we had stuck to the plan, as despite our desire for a day close to home (having breakfast in the local Water’s Edge Cafe and buying plants for the garden), we also got sucked into things like supermarket shopping and going to the vet. But the real problem was that I was having one of my bad days, for which I am truly sorry. It’s never easy for the people around you when it happens and it is ironic that it contrasted sharply with yesterday, which was a lovely day.

We did get some really nice plants, of which this is a selection, and a new fire pit. The garden will look lovely again soon and there are some warm evenings ahead forecast. Things will get better.

For the record I have a wonderful wife whom I love very much and today is and will always be a special day. This is what love looks like when circumstances and the black dog aren’t getting in the way:
