YFC Show.
On Saturday Mr Tbay and I headed for Wedmore to the Young Farmers Annual Show held in the grounds of one of the Wedmore pubs. This is an event that has been going for many years and still survives, just!
There are a variety of calf showing classes, pigs, sheep and poultry. As well as the livestock there are handicraft classes too consisting of cookery classes, flower arranging and crafts. The top picture is of two of my little Junior Readers showing their heifers. These two amazing girls are only 11 and 12 and not only showed their calves but also did lots of handicrafts and has show pigs there too. In my extras there is a picture of the two girls with their rosettes. Other extras are of handicrafts .
In the evening we then attended the Dinner Dance where we had a lovely time celebrating the brilliant day arranged by the club members. Farming children never cease to amaze me with their capabilities at such young ages and their sense of responsibility.
Today it was a day of masterly inactivity, well not quite but not quite so hectic!
I had a few items I needed to purchase and headed for the shops. One of my purchases was a rather nice bedspread which I wanted for my single room. However a totally square bedspread is not very effective. I failed to notice the 200 x200 measurement! So that’s going back! Grrr.
