Spa

After breakfast of Банички (banichki - tasty) with Айрян (savoury drinking yoghurt - fair), Боза (fermented barley drink - drinkable, but an acquired taste!)  - and coffee! - we spent three hours in the communist era thermal bath complex in in Хисаря (Hisaria), followed by a good lunch in the garden of a restaurant. Unfortunately thick cloud developed so, when we got to Пловдив (Plovdiv) it was rather dull. By now the weekend trip was more than half a day behind schedule, so we only had time to walk up to see the old town and roman amphitheatre, before dropping back down to София (Sofia).
