Monumental Structures, River Tyne
We had a walk this morning in the Rising Sun Country Park here in North Tyneside. From the top of the hill you can get a view over the Tyne Valley.
It's a good vantage point for seeing these huge structures being built beside the river. At first I wondered if they were parts for oil rigs, but they're actually for something more environmental - they're being made for the Beatrice Off-Shore Wind Farm. When complete the farm will be Scotland's largest, with a capacity of 588 MW of power, enough for 450,000 homes.
(So they're not evidence of a Martian invasion!)
I liked the slightly haze view with layers of wooded parkland at the front and the industrial layer at the back. I did a mono conversion but then decided to "bleed" a bit of colour back in using layers in Photoshop.
Looks best large against black, if you've time.
