An adventure loop
John and I covered a lot of ground in one day. First we drove up to
Mt Hood to take advantage of the recent snow fall, and to cross country ski.
It was better than I expected, overcast, but not raining or snowing. The ski trails were not maintained anymore, but enough people were out to make the trails easy to ski. Last time we were up there was probably 15 years ago. We chose the easy and intermediate loops - staying away from "Wahoo Gulch" and "Screamer Hill". We had coffee in a thermos, and ate our lunch in the woods. We continued driving to Hood River, to see some of the blooming fruit trees. Then on to The Dalles, and finally Dallas Mountain Road on the Washington side of the Columbia. The main blip is from there, and the Lupine in the second extra. Many flowers were already in bloom, and the Western Meadowlarks were there.
The first extra is from the orchards.
