a lifetime burning

A B ...

As I mentioned yesterday, Cathy and I have been to Southampton to see our son James and his fiancee Katie so that the men could attend the suit fitting for the forthcoming wedding.  As a result I was unable to attend the Bristol Blip Meet organise by RobBris50, which I really would have liked to get to.  From the evidence so far, they seem to have had a good time :-)

The suit fitting done we enjoyed a convivial family lunch complete with best man to be and a wander around a small maze that has been created using laurels in planters, in the centre of the shopping area, close to the old city wall.

Cathy and I have finally got home. Once upon a time I used to drive between Bristol and the south coast near Southampton most weekends to go windsurfing for the day.  The traffic is quite a bit heavier now, but even so, I don't recall that I used to be anywhere near as tired back then after 4 hours in a car.  My being more than 30 years older clearly takes its toll.

The weather forecaster definitely got it wrong today - but pleasantly so.  We've arrived home to late evening sunshine and a temperature in the high teens - the first decent bit of weather this year.  The bee I caught for my blip certainly seemed to think so.  On looking closely I realise that it has mites - Incredibish's post from a few days ago shows the mites more clearly I think.
