Happy as a Pig in...

... mud...

General rule of thumb from my trips to home to Ellon is that one day there's a blip of seals (as yesterday) the next day of red squirrels. But I live life on the edge, and the squirrels only make the cut to Flickr. A chap walking his dog came across to offer some tips on the best places and times to see the squirrels, telling us we'll never see any in the wet. I pointed out I already had some photos in the can. But then he was wearing a rain-hat improvised out of a black bin bag, so I'm taking advice with a pinch of salt.

Spent most of last evening going through old photos, and uploading the various best ones to Facebook - I'm all for self-deprecation. Plus there are some really funny ones of my sister and brother.

Caught up with my dad before heading south as well, finding out he was back in Ellon for the first time in about 3 months, and we've not seen him since the wedding last year. Lunch was duly taken at The Store in Foveran (where this pig sank gradually deeper and deeper in the mud as his flank got a got scratch from Mel, then me (as he sank to far for Mel to reach over the fence)).

Uneventful drive home (queue over the bridge due to a diesel spillage being the highlight) was as exciting as it got, which is fine by me. Now waiting on pizza while supping a wee single malt.

Oh, and if you're stuck for somewhere to eat in Aberdeen the next time you're there, you'd do a lot worse than try out Moonfish. Simple, straightforward. Kinda hip. Tasty.
