Yellow Brain Fungus

Two nice finds today. First I came across several patches of the brown jelly fungus Tremella foliacea or 'Witch's Butter' . Its an interesting fungus because its parasitic on other fungi (I found it growing with one of the Stereum species). I thought that would be my blip for today but then I found another and even more spectacular Tremella species, the 'Yellow Brain' fungus (Tremella mesenterica) growing in the cracks on thick old gorse stems. I shall save the witches' butter for tomorrow.
