Marathon Day
THURSDAY
A dull, cold and miserable day.
Walked from Lambeth Bridge along South Bank to London Bridge. Most of the tourists hadn't emerged.
Up the Sky Gardens again. Lovely view of the low clouds - see extra
Walked to Tower Pier and took Riverboat to Greenwich
Had a wander around Greenwich and grabbed some lunch - Main blip - Old Royal Naval College
Took the foot tunnel to Island Gardens then hopped on the DLR to Bank
Had a bit of time to kill so decided to walk to Spitalfields Market
Walked down and crossed. Tower Bridge then walked though Borough Market in time for the 4 pm tour of Shakespeare's Globe - the guide was Ewan who readily recited scripts from Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. The tour allowed us to sit and watch rehearsals on stage. It was Hamlet and people were dying everywhere. - See extra
Popped into Tate Modern for a whirlwind tour.
Arrived at the Southbank Centre in time for the 6 pm tour including Concrete Dreams Exhibition.
Back to Novotel near Lambeth Bridge for dinner
Apart from the Riverboat and DLR I walked everywhere.
32,176 steps.
15.2 miles
