Diary of an Edinburgher

Gym✔️

A very successful gym session today. I noticed a man walking backwards on the treadmill with it on a slope, so after my cross trainer, I had a go. Not for long. But I put it back down and had a go at just walking. I just pressed start, and began walking along a waterfront with big yachts and cityscapes, presumably somewhere in America. Then we walked along a city street, and was that the Central GPO in Auckland I just passed?? I noticed that the cars were on the correct (left) side of the road. Not America, then...

I walked up a city street - it looked like Queen Street in Auckland. I looked at shop signs and yes! There was an ANZ bank - it was Auckland! I was so excited. I lived there for four years in the 70s. I then walked all round the Domain, and walked up Mount Eden, taking 25 minutes. I'm sure I was smiling as I went along. In fact, my legs (and knees) felt so good when I came out, I felt I could walk for much longer.

Anne came to take Archie out, after a crazed welcome (on his part, Anne was pretty laid back). When he came back I gave him a haircut and we went round the block to test my legs again, but they weren’t as good as they were in the morning.

Molly the Gorgeous Collie and her mum came for a visit in the afternoon. Archie helped making the nibbles (Extra). Molly was very excitied to be here and trotted around the house exploring, before settling down and politely ignoring the nibbles at doggie height on the coffee table. She's very clever at opening the door by herself - Archie hasn’t a clue.

I'm really looking forward to continuing my walk round Auckland tomorrow! I might do more than 25 minutes.
