As planned today...

... I stayed here in Southport, to do a bit of photography, whilst Gary headed for Aintree for the first day of the race meeting.

Like yesterday, it turned out to be a very uninspiring day with yet more dull and bitterly cold weather.

This is the modern road bridge over the Marine Lake, taken from the pier. Converting to monochrome helped to bring out some tones in the gloomy sky.

Crossing fingers for more interesting light tomorrow.
