Chestnut wood last for ever.

There are the original roof planks of the house. Stripped and scrubbed by Emmanuele who declined to use his sandblasting equipment. Handsawn boards and hand hewn beams. He'll strip the varnish of the beams.  It's looking handsome.

I felled three trees and burnt and sawed up the timber. Tiring but immensely satisfying.

Blown lights got electrician Andrea around who says we need to re-wire. Hey ho.
