Blackness Castle

Before college broke up for Easter I made sure to borrow one of the staff Historic Scotland passes. I actually wanted one of the Association of Scottish visitor attractions ones but I had been beaten too all of them by people with similar ideas.

Since my mum and Roz's brother were both visiting today we decided to take advantage of the pass and take a ten minute drive up to Blackness Castle.

It's quite a picturesque wee place and still fairly intact too which means it has been used as a location for loads of film shoots. Amongst the actors that have been filmed there are Mel Gibson and Ollie Reed. According to the man in the gift shop next month it will be closed to the public for three weeks as Bob Hoskins is up doing a film which will involve loads of wild animals. Wonder if they need any extras...
