I Want A 99, Now!

Unfortunately I'm not talking about an ice-cream here.

I went to a photographic exhibition here in Copenhagen today. All the manufacturers were there as well as an impressive number of world class photographers. I headed straight for the Sony stand (which wasn't as busy as Nikon or Canon). I had an interesting discussion in which I had it confirmed that there is nowhere you can see & buy a reasonable range of Sony cameras and lens, all outlets are either Nikon/Canon specialists or "Sony Centres" that know nothing about cameras and don't hold stock. I think an idea is forming. I will be in touch with them.

I also got to stick this rather wonderful lens on my camera - a Zeiss 16-50mm f2.8 (RRP £530). I did, of course, try out the a99 - truly amazing but with the lens you see here (28-75mm f2.8) comes to around £4000 (body only = £2550). If you're interested I posted 5 shots in full resolution from the 16-50 lens and from the a99 on my weblogthingy.

I'll settle for this lens though, I think it's a "must have" now I've tried it. Just thinking of the night shots I could do......
