Ten Thousand Miles

Across the other side of the world the Scottish Beach Volleyball teams were in action in the Commonwealth Games quarter finals in the Coolangatta Beachfront arena. Earlier the men lost to England and then, more or less at the same time as this picture was taken, the women were on court against Canada. Sadly, no fairytale victory (unlike the Scottish men's basketball team, ranked eighth of eight teams and expected to lose all three group games they not only won all three but also won their quarterfinal against Nigeria to head into the semi-final) but a great experience for them no doubt. How will it feel to come back here to play having played in a 4000 seat arena?
