My Special Drawer

The past couple of years (wow, has it really been that long), have found me put my focus on becoming an efficient time-manager, more organized, more in control of my life.

I recently moved (into a place that I love), and in the process, removed about 80% of the clutter out of my life. I got rid of clothes I don't wear, books I'll never read again, things I don't need and don't use. As a result my life feels clean and organized.

Of course, there is always the pull towards things getting backlogged and cluttered again.

Here's a simple system I use to keep my business affairs (bills, etc...) in order.

The top left drawer of my desk is my "things that need to be taken care of" drawer. This is where I put bills that need to be paid, things that need to be filed, notes of things I need to do, basically anything that is on my to do list. (notice my fish food is in here)

At least once a week, I attend to this drawer and make sure to take care of everything that needs to be taken care of that week.

It is a simple way of knowing what lingering things need to be taken care of, and an easy way of keeping them all in one place that I can focus on for a short period of time once a week.

When I have a gap in my schedule, I open the drawer and clean house, then if I still have free time I can move onto to fun things like posting geeky entries on Blipfoto :)
