pothole is over 10cm deep (the pocketknife in 9cm). The extra shows what happened next: two flat tyres.  A good thing on the AA van is a 'universal spare'; together with the one in our boot, we were able to go and spend lots of money on some new tyres. The upside is that next to the tyre place is a branch of the local bakery who believe in lots of thick back rashers in a bacon roll. Tomorrow we'll try again to visit the family the other side of Bromyard.
