Dreich

On a truly dreich day, these were about the only bright spot on my journey to work. There I had a visit from a prospective student from the Netherlands who had just arrived in Edinburgh. I had to explain that in the thick cloud there was a 250m rocky hill you can usually see from my office: hopefully the weather hasn't put him off and he'll have a better day tomorrow.

However, three-quarters of us (or half if you include the animals) will be travelling...
