Between fen and mountains

Prades market

The Tuesday market is a vibrant affair with the whole town taken up with stalls of various kinds. It pays to go early as parking can become very difficult later on and in summer I tend to avoid the market as it is difficult to navigate the throng of people. There is quite a lot of street entertainment including accordions and today an incompetent juggler who dropped his clubs every few seconds. It all adds to the atmosphere! Prades is not a wealthy town and it has attracted a small population of New Age travellers who make a scant living selling their beads and woven necklaces and other trinkets. They can usually be identified by their dreadlocks and an accompanying dog on a string. I bought my sourdough bread, fish and fresh produce and then headed home. This afternoon there is a French conversation class but I will be the only one there so I expect Nicole and I will just have a chat and a catch up.
