Flaps down for landing
Early start today at 4am to get to the airport for a 6am flight to Tanzania. We had a 12 seater Cessna for the 4 of us. After an hour and forty minute flight we landed in Mwanza
We the wen to the immigration desk and cleared customs by going into a small room next to our bags and telling the custom guy we had nothing to declare. We when got the next flight which was ready to go when we were to get to the Kogatende airstrip in the bush near the camp. This was another 12 seater Cessna plane just for the 4 of us.
Once we landed we met up with our guides Tuba and Mdebie and went straight into a game drive in the park. After 15 minutes we had already seen enough wilder beast to keep us going and a few elephants. By the time we got back to the camp at lunchtime we had seen vultures, wilder beast, giraffes, barcodes, a few hippos and a croc.
After lunch we went on another game drive for 2.5hours and saw two young lionesses along with Thompson gazelle, Impala, giraffe, more elephants, Agama lizards on the rocks sunning themselves, mongoose, water buck, velvet monkeys and 2 jackals
There was a great sunset which went well with a bottle of Kilimanjaro beer. We then returned to the camp to have a bucket shower where the water smelt of the camp fire it had been warmed on.
G&T's by the fire before dinner before going back to the tent which was surrounded by wilder beast to go to bed. Great day.
