River Crossing

Woke up feeling better after having the afternoon off yesterday but still not right. Went out to the Mara River again to have a look at the crossing. This time there were so many wilder beast that we had difficulty in getting to the riverbank to see them.
By the time we made it around the outside of the herd to get to the river, the crossing was already under way. There were thousands them crossing and not just in one place. At one point there were 5 lines of wilder beast trying to get to the other side. Due to the numbers we stayed close to the Jeep as the wilder beast were moving around not only on the edge nearby but also on the river bank just below us. The dust and noise was incredible due to the sheer numbers crossing. You could feel the ground vibrate with the stampede to cross.
In the 2 hours we were at the river there must have been 10,000 wilder beast cross. Like before some of them were crossing back again to find calves that had been lost in the rush.
The crocs were again in attendance but didn't seem bothered even when the wilder beast went close by. They just waited for the injured or tired ones to come to them downstream.
Had breakfast on the plain in front of a herd of wilder beast waiting to go to the crossing. Not sure if they can be bothered to cross today. Once breakfast was completed we set of in search of cheaters, leopards and Rhino. On the way to the more rocky area we saw lots more of what is becoming the usual suspects. The warthogs are great but difficult to take photos of. Every time you get close they turn their backs to you and trot off with their tail up that make them look like they are remote controlled for somewhere.
In the rocks we saw clip springer. These are very small deer that can walk up the rocks. Their hooves are shaped in such a way that they can create almost a suction cup effect that helps them climb up the steep rocks. Near to them we also found some rock hyrax which looks like a very large rodent.
On the way back for lunch we saw a small parade of elephants before finding 2 cheaters sitting in the shade of a tree. Managed to get a few photos of them before they moved away. We followed them for a while as the moved from shaded area to shaded area before leaving them to go back for lunch.
In the afternoon we went out again looking for Leopards and Rhino. We went back to the spot they had seen the Rhino the afternoon before but with no luck. We did see a large herd of buffalo, an elephant with two babies, some more clip springer and a couple of hyenas
Seen today
Wilder beast, giraffes, Elan, zebra, impala, gazelle, warthogs, vervet monkeys, agama lizards on the rocks, lip springer, rock hyrax, elephants, cheetah, nightjar in the grass, buffalo, hyena and water buck.
