The Brass Band

We headed out to Geelong today, and all along the water front are these exciting sculptures that are made from the bollards that used to sit in the sea at the old Yarra Street Pier. In the 1980's the Pier was destroyed by fire, and these huge pylons were saved, and made into over 100 of these amazing wooden people. Jan Mitchell was the artist. This group is my favourite, the Brass Band members resplendent in their red coats and various musical instruments.

I am delighted to have this colourful photo in my proposed blip book at the end of the year.
