The day of the toads

After hanging around in the pond warily for the last week or so, today was the big day for the toads when they lost all caution and threw themselves into spawning with enthusiasm.  Obviously my camera ran out of battery just as I found a big and very explicit toad ball. This consolation shot taken with the phone and a hand held polarising lens.
