Gym Bunny

It's never too early... ;-)

We took Lucy Locket to her first Kindergym class today at the new place that opened a little while back near to my gym. I went there with a friend about 18 months ago to try out one of their classes, and while it's a great place, all new etc, it wasn't really big enough for what we want to do so we decided to stay put. My gym is a proper gymnastics club, with everything you need for training whatever your age.

However, it was a really beautiful sunny day, and the new gym looked really lovely and I can see why it's popular.

Lucy was the youngest there, but whilst she stayed tight-lipped and didn't really smile, the instructor lady was really good and told us which things would be really good for her- lots of tummy-time etc.

My sister took her round whilst I snapped a few pics and videos for her dad to see later.

I joked that it was her first gym initiation and that we'll make a gymnast out of her yet! Neither of her parents are very sporty, so this auntie is hoping she'll enjoy gym, but I'm sure she'll find her niche in something.

I think this picture sums up how she felt about it ;-)

It was weird for me as I felt really out of place, but there were a few dads and grandparents there too, so I suppose it didn't matter. I think whenever I am around Lucy, I struggle with my emotions inside, like I feel happy and sad and out of place at the same time. My sister said she felt a bit flustered, in that we didn't know anybody etc, but the other ladies seemed nice and she thinks she'll go again.

We drove home and they came back to mum's and we all sat in the sunshine in the conservatory.

I've not felt that well all week, nursing a cold and feeling intermittently sick- well, it is the school holidays after all!
