Special Measures

I chose today’s photograph because it shows my wife and some of colleagues, all of whom work at RCH Treliske enjoying a rare social gathering.
The hospital has again made the news this week “staff not caring for patients”, utter bullshit!!
Treliske is the only hospital in Cornwall, sure we have minor injuries units with beds, these are little more than NHS care homes.
As the influx into Cornwall continues, the elderly retiring, thousands of students, holiday makers etc there has been no investment into the county’s infrastructure so as the population increases and lives longer there is simply not the facilities to cope.
All of this is of course well known and well documented but the people in this picture and others like them bear the brunt of successive governments ‘head in the sand’ attitude.
