Double-helix
We were in Northampton today, and took G's Mum shopping in the town centre.
Sadly, the main shopping street, Abington Street, is looking rather shabby and forlorn, like so many high streets these days. It is redeemed a little however by this rather fine sculpture.
Called 'Discovery' and created by Lucy Glendinning in 2005, it celebrates the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA by Francis Crick and James Watson.
Francis Crick was born in Northampton in 1916.
