Camera Strip Down 5 - Shutter Mechanism

I am gradually reaching the final stages of stripping down my defunct Canon D6. This is the shutter mechanism and it is nice to see a component where I can understand its workings and it is not all shrouded in electronic circuit boards. The plastic cogs are clearly the mechanism whereby the shutter is opened and closed, or at certain speeds a strip of open shutter travels across the sensor. On the other hand it is amazing that this physical mechanism can work to tolerances of 1/4000 of a second (the fastest shutter speed on the D6). The only items that I still have to remove are the mirror, the pentaprism and the internal; battery.
