Behind the Mask...

Backblip

Today's blip perfectly illustrates how I felt today.  Outwardly smiling but behind the hands a different expression was being worn.  Generally more of a grimace and a grump and it's all the fault of the physio.

Kirsteen arrived just before 1.30pm to work on my physio before getting into the pool to do some pool physio with Alan just before 3.00pm.  I decided not to do pool physio and have normal physio instead as my stepdad John and Norma were coming up at 4pm and staying for dinner (and overnight) and I would have been very rushed getting ready for them arriving if I had gone in the pool.

Big mistake!  Physio exercises in the pool are so much easier and less painful to do.  Kirsteen is really pleased with my progress so we extended the repertoire of exercises today and she had me do lots of repetitions to make sure I was doing them properly (and to make sure I remember to breathe!)

I worked really hard and was looking forward to her ending the session with a deep tissue massage of my back...but we ran out of time! Oh the disappointment!

I managed to grab a cuppa and sit with my feet up for half an hour before John and Norma arrived, so that gave me a chance to recover a bit.  At least I know that my muscles protesting means they are getting with workout they are meant to be getting.

Alan was over the moon to see his grandpa and Norma, as was Lola, who was on her best behaviour so no need to employ the tactics used the first time they met her! :-))  Although it's only a few weeks since they last say her, they saw a huge difference in her size.  We are hoping she has now stopped growing.

We had a lovely dinner and a lot of happy chat with them (John is hilarious.  He could give many a stand-up comedian a run for their money.) Finally got to bed just after 1.00am and oh the relief to stretch out on the cool mattress then curl into my sleeping position.  I think I was asleep within a minute!

An old favourite
