Makeover

I spent the morning at the Scottish Government’s building at Victoria Quay. It’s been a few weeks since I got into my former office area - normally been in the conference rooms.

The old working area has been transformed with “smart Working”. No pedestals; no dedicate ddesks; small box lockers for limited personal possessions; standing desks where the desk can rise to chest height to allow you to work standing up (very popular apparently).

The way of the future. Desk provision is for approx 80% of staff on the basis that there is never 100% occupancy with leave, meetings, travel, sickness.

Even the break out areas are transformed with private pods and meeting areas.
