Happy Tartan Day

Today is National Tartan Day (in the USA). I found this out while browsing Blip outside Screwfix, while TM was  in buying a light switch. The wonders of Blip!

Earlier I'd been putting away toys that the grandchildren had got out, and it just happens that amongst them is this bear.  He's made of Harris Tweed and sports a jacket of the same cloth, plus a sash and natty trews in Cameron tartan.  He was bought at Callanish, on Lewis, many years ago on a day of biblical rain. I thought it would be appropriate to snap him today.  

And, of course, it is the anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath! 

Most of the day was spent washing, shifting the beds back to their proper rooms, and putting the fragile stuff back in place.  An hour ago, elder son rang to say that he and his daughters, and his dog, are dropping in for a couple of nights next week 'if that's ok'.  Well, of course it is, I just wish he'd rung this morning!
