Rooftops in the rain

Another dreich day - and it looks like the rain is going to be with us for a few more days.  We're heading to the big island tomorrow to watch Kalyn and her team play in a volleyball tournament in Nanaimo on Saturday and Sunday.  Can't wait to see Renata and Kalyn and spend some time with them.  Hopefully I'll get some decent action shots.  
Kalyn has been nominated for the Pete Swensson Outstanding Community Youth Award. It's awarded annually to a Langley student in grade 11 or 12 who is nominated by his or her school to recognize athletic achievements, scholastic efforts, community involvement, and personal qualities.   Even if she doesn't win, it's an honour to be nominated.  Tonight she and her parents are off to the dinner hosted by the Township of Langley.  Other awards will be presented and volunteers who make a difference in the township will also be recognized.
