Just a few days

What a difference a few days makes. Same time, same place, same view, but the outlook is altogether different to what it was just one week ago.

This is the church on the hill, St Mary’s overlooking Eling Creek on the northern reaches of Southampton Water and which can trace its origins back to the 9th century.
Yet when we were here a week ago, the tide was out, and boats were largely high and dry on mud banks, as you looked across the waterway to the church.
Today, with the tide in, the Creek very much comes back to life and the view takes on a pleasing dimension, with interest still in the outline of the church, but increasingly in life on the water.

I shall make a point of returning as the seasons change.
