Charles Austin survived the first frost
Our 'Charles Austin' rose is looking gorgeous this autumn. We've had two frosty nights now (and a wee dusting of snow the night between Thursday and Friday), so it was time to dig up the Dahlias. We also planted the last (?) tulips, snowdrops and Scillas, covered our garden furniture with a tarpaulin and prepared the compost heap for the winter, mixing in some nice horse dung.
Weather was gloriously sunny and temperatures were between -1°C and +1°C.
