Fresco on the ceiling at Karlskirche, Vienna

Karlskirche is arguably the most beautiful baroque church in Vienna and it was truly amazing walking round today. There is a lift that goes right up to the ceiling of the church, so you can see the frescos up close. This is one of my favourites, mainly because of its 3D appearance - you'd never know it was painted on in 2D, thanks to the amazing intricacy of the painting and the gold gilt highlights. A real privilege to be able to get so close to this amazing artwork - this easily matches anything I've seen in Rome.
