Beware of low winter sun.

These 'ghost bikes' are perhaps unusual outside a city. (They are on the A595 near Cockermouth. ) They commemorate two brothers, keen cyclists, killed at this spot by a coach.
At his trial the coach driver stated that he was blinded by the low winter sun. As you can perhaps see, there are dark trees at the side of the road and this is a tricky spot in bright, low sun.
We are reacing the time of year for low sun; the ghost bikes serve as a useful reminder perhaps.
