Sick children’s
Our poor wee boy who’s only 8 yrs old woke at 5am with an asthma attack. Talk about scaring the life out of us. Gave him extra dose of inhalers and made the 10 minute journey to The Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children. Triage took us immediately and the doctor stabilised him on some oxygen, nebuliser, oral steroid and monitored him through the night. He then vomited all over the floor probably not helped by all the meds and between us and A&E administering 30 puffs of his blue sabutamol inhaler which also sent his heartrate racing. Bless him but at least he had his oral steroid in him over an hour which should have been absorbed. So while some sleep and steroids made our little boy like a superhero I’m left a sleepless wreck today, but glad he is feeling himself again the poor wee man
