Posing
I can't explain the pose or expression. It was quite cold today, and our walk from Silverado to the Co-op (so I could do a little shopping) felt like a simple task turned upside down. My eyes were dilated from an eye exam, so I had to wear sunglasses and squint, even in the grey light. Gloves made picking up dog poop tricky, as did running out of bags, and my mom kept taking her gloves off to pick stuff up and move said stuff in and out of her pockets. Then there was the long process of getting each finger back into its slot. Leashes got tangled. Wind blew. "Dead trees" were much discussed. But through it all, my mom looked lovely in her turquoise combo and green bow.
I did ultimately appreciate (very much) that she's still able to walk with me, and I even chuckled at all her comments about what "they" should do to spruce this city up. Maybe that's what's behind this posture.
