horns of wilmington's cow

A foxy couple

I don't know if they're actually a couple or not (famously, to me at least, I remember reading a guide to sexing foxes, and it declared that it wasn't easy, had a couple of pointers that may or may not help, then concluded the guide saying the best way was to get a look at the genitals....). But there was no aggro between them over the leftovers put out the back door.

Not had any properly bold foxes here for a while, when I would get photos almost every night, but there will probably be kits (not cubs...) in the den now; or very nearly on their way, so they're in need of food.

The chap at the back (I'm assuming male, head on he had a very broad head) makes the extras as the brighter coated, and brighter eyed, of the two, but sadly not putting any weight onto his left rear leg. Will keep an eye out the next few nights to see if that improves.
