A rural life for me

By Rhubarrb

Not what I expected to see!

Spotted a gaggle (not sure of the proper collective noun for Partridge!) of these wee beauties on the drive. On further inspection I discovered there were about 20 bobbing about! Of course they flew off before I could blip them but then I spotted one on the wall a wee while later. Joined as you can see by 3 more. Not sure where the rest of the gaggle are - no doubt well hidden in the field somewhere.

Such beautiful markings around the eyes. Very nervous birds though so no chance of getting a close up outside - this was taken through a window so not the clearest.

Makes a change from the bloody pheasants that keep coming into the garden and stealing the birds food - they fly up and knock the feeders off the table and then get stuck in! Also discovered that Buster the badger then sneaks in at night and carries the feeders away and destroys them in the hedge! Oh the trials of living in the country - I love it!!!!
